Health and Beauty Advice

Beauty Secrets ;
Health And Beauty are two of the most important aspects of our lives especially in this fast paced modern world. Obviously this means that quality health and beauty advice is at a premium and that is what we at
www.health-and-beauty-advice.com are doing our best to provide you with. The site might seem a bit more geared towards beauty secrets and tips at the moment but we are constantly updating the site and if there is any specific health advice you would like discussed then feel free to email us at support@health-and-beauty-advice.com
When it comes to beauty secrets probably one of the most popular topics is anti aging treatments and products. This is not surprising when most of us would admit that we want to stay looking younger. The secret to eternal youth has been the subject of movies books and other media for an eternity and while there is obviously no such thing the advances made in anti aging products are quite remarkable and we have plenty of reviews and articles on the best anti aging methods.
Another popular topic is stress and more importantly how to either avoid it or at least reduce it. Personally my favorite anti stress method is aromatherapy. There is nothing quite like relaxing in a bath containing aromatherapy oils or even better an aromatherapy massage from a professional, my personal favorite. In our house we have aromatherapy candles burning every evening. Whether we are working or sitting in front of the television there is nothing like the relaxing aroma of scented candles.
On the health side of things there is nothing quite as annoying and frustrating for a woman than a yeast infection, I know this from personal experience as I used to suffer quite badly. Again we have sought out some great yeast infection advice and tips and bring them to you in our yeast infection articles. In this day and age there really is no reason to suffer even if like me you have a chronic yeast infection.
We also like to look for alternative health and beauty tips. For instance if you are seeking health and beauty advice on natural products that are gentle on the skin while still being a powerful skin booster then you should try natures own beauty secrets, would you believe milk of magnesia? Application is quite simple, with a bit of cotton use to apply it on your face. After application you must wait for it to completely dry and when your skin feels tight, you gently rinse of the application and that is all. Simple.

Aromatherapy OILS

What Is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is a term created in the 1920?s by the French scientist Rene Maurice Gattefosse for the use of essential oils in the treatment of disease. The essential oil, also known as the essence of the oil, is the process of extracting the chemical properties of that oil so that it may be used for treatment. In France some essential oils cannot be used without a doctor?s prescription. In other countries around the world, including the United States, aromatherapy is not recognized as a viable form of treatment for any disease.
The name aromatherapy is a little misleading and an entire industry has evolved around this misunderstanding. Aromatherapy is actually defined as the use of the chemical properties of the oils, and their supposed ability to cure disease by applying them directly to the patient, as opposed to the strength of their scent. While there is an arm of aromatherapy that does deal with the relaxation properties of certain scents, the main focus of the practice is on applying oils to cure disease and not on creating scents to reduce stress.
The Critics Speak Out
There is very little solid research available to back up the claims that practicing therapists make about their oils and treatments. Some critics have said that, aside from making the room smell nice and reducing stress, aromatherapy has very little value at all. Many medical doctors put aromatherapy in the same category as acupuncture and other alternative medicines but many therapists claim that their oils and treatments are very effective. The problem is that there is no value in conducting a truly scientific study on oils and their effects because you really cannot patent an oil treatment. If there is no money to be made then there is usually very little interest in researching something.
However there is a danger to aromatherapy that could cause American medical authorities to take a closer look at the practice as it becomes more popular here and in other Western countries. Essential oils are, in their most basic form, chemicals extracted from different plants. As chemicals they cause a chemical reaction when they come into contact with something. The practice of aromatherapy involves combining these oils into mixtures that are intended to treat disease and alter a patient?s mood. However, if a therapist creates an incorrect mixture, or uses a mixture that a client is unknowingly allergic to, the results can be fatal. Since the practice deals with applying a mixture of chemicals to the human body in the hopes of treating disease, and with an alarming number of new therapists popping up every year, it may be in the best interest of the medical authorities to start giving aromatherapy a closer look.

Aromatherapy Treatments

Why You Should Get Aromatherapy Treatments
The first thing that you need to understand about aromatherapy treatments is that they are a holistic form of healing. Most people who practice aromatherapy understand that when a person becomes sick it is not just their physical health that suffers, but their mental and spiritual state does as well. This is where aromatherapy treatments can help.
How Aromatherapy Treatments Work
Aromatherapy treatments are used to bring about mood changes and help a person get well faster. This is a natural, non-invasive treatment. It involves the use of naturally extracted aromatic plant extracts, which enhances your body's healing process. These aromatherapy treatments work on several different levels to bring about relief. For this reason aromatherapy treatments are able to help with insomnia, moodiness, skin disorders, depression, lack of concentration, panic attacks, burns, bruises, asthma, bronchitis, flu, muscular aches and pains, constipation and digestion.
Understanding Where Aromatherapy Treatments Come From
Essential oils come from plant materials such as flowers, leaves, fruit peel, wood, grasses, etc. and are made by distilling it with water or steam. They can also be processed mechanically. This mechanical processing is most commonly used whenever essential oils are being made out of citrus rinds. When it comes to natural materials these are usually processed with dry distillation. Once the distillation process is done, the essential oils are able to be physically separated from the water.
Once these essential oils have been created they will not be greasy and they also will not leave behind any oily marks. However, you should know that these oils are very easily penetrated through the skin and from there they are quickly absorbed into your bloodstream. For this reason, you must make sure to use them correctly. Otherwise they will actually do more harm than good for you. This is because essential oils tend to be highly concentrated extracts.
What You Should Know About Aromatherapy Treatments
If you wish to be healed of a specific condition through aromatherapy treatments, then you really should seek the advice of a qualified practitioner. This is because the use of essential oils is a precise science that one must learn. It is also important that only the highest quality oils be used in the proper combination. An excellent way to get started, without paying for aromatherapy treatments right away, is to burn some aromatherapy candles in your home. Once you see just how well this works you may well be ready to get some aromatherapy treatments from a professional.

Aromatherapy and Facials

Aromatherapy and FacialsSince we’ve spoken on Facials, finding out more about them was the obvious choice. And what’s more I landed up in the world of fragrances. Worth reading on, if you are a lover of great skin. Lets examine the types of skin, before we move on.
There are five basic skin types, and you will want to consider yours when making your own aromatherapy beauty products.
Oily Skin Oily skin is caused by over-active glands, which produce a substance called Asebum, a naturally healthy skin lubricant. When the skin produces too much sebum, it becomes thick and heavy in texture. Shininess, pimples and blemishes characterize oily skin. Frequent steam cleaning and exfoliation can help reduce these symptoms.
Dry Skin Dry skin usually results when skin fails to produce enough sebum to maintain a naturally lubricated surface. This lack of oil in the skin is often hereditary, but can also be caused by over-exposure to the sun and other environmental elements. As we age, our skin becomes drier as decreased metabolism reduces the rapidity with which dead skin cells are replaced. Dry skin often appears coarse, tight, dull and flaky, with visible lines and wrinkles. Massage with essential and cold pressed oils can stimulate metabolism and alleviate dry skin conditions.
Normal Skin Normal skin produces a healthy amount of sebum, and tends to be neither dry nor oily in feel. Sensitive Skin Sensitive skin reacts unfavorably to a variety of chemicals and environmental factors. Having had ample opportunity to compare brand new baby skin with skin that is just a few years old, it seems to me that all skin is delicate and sensitive when it is new. Increased exposure to nature's elements such as the sun, wind and cold, as well as to harsh cosmetic ingredients, tend to toughen skin over time.
Combination Skin Many people have different skin types on different parts of the face. For example, it is not uncommon for a person to have oily skin around the nose, forehead and chin, while the rest of the face is more on the dry side. If you have more than one skin type on your face, it is wise to use products containing different ingredients to treat the areas differently.
Your Step-By-Step At-Home Facial
A basic facial must include at least 3 elements:
(1) cleansing;
(2) toning; and
(3) moisturizing.
Additional steps might include steaming, exfoliating and masking.
1. Before cleansing your skin with a gentle cleanser, it is wise to give yourself a light steam treatment to open your pores and prepare your face for cleaning. To do this, simply soak a soft towel in a bowl of comfortably warm herbal tea. Wring out the towel and place it over your face and neck area and relax until it cools slightly. You may repeat this process, as it is quite soothing.
2. Cleanse your face with a gentle handmade cleanser such as Rose Cream Cleanser. Use upward, circular movements of the fingertips to gently stimulate the skin and help lift surface debris and excess oil. Rinse with warm water and gently pat excess moisture from face with a soft towel. If you wear heavy make-up, you might wish to repeat the cleansing process.
3. After cleansing, it is important to tone the skin using ingredients that help balance the pH of the skin, which is typically disturbed during the cleansing process. Apply the toner with a soft cotton pad, but do not rub the skin. Rather, saturate the pad and pat the toner over the face and neck area. Do not pat skin dry. Avoid eye area when using toner. You skin is now ready for moisturizing.
4. Moisturize your skin using Aromatic Facial Oil, which contains a host of soothing ingredients to add moisture and nutrients to your skin. To seal in the moisture, be sure to apply the oil while skin remains damp from applying the toner. Gently apply the oil to your face and neck using patting motions. For oily areas of skin, one application of oil should suffice. Apply twice to dry areas of skin, waiting about 2-3 minutes between applications, and being sure to moisten the skin slightly with water or toner before the second application

If you are trying to save the world, you will need to know the cause of the problem: Everyone one can plainly see that the acts of humanity are causing all of the major problems on this planet. There has almost always been war, greed, violence, massive starvation and unnecessary extinctions of other species. In the last 1000 years or so we have added pollution, over population and global warming. But why? If you have ever tried to help the environment, wild life or anything else that is not human, the inescapable conclusion you come to is: Only when the humans change can we ever really resolve the worlds problems. But have you ever really tried to encourage people to change? If you have you realize, for the most part, you are not always dealing with rational, reasonable and intelligent creatures. So what are you really dealing with? Example: A survey was taken that determined that American consumers would not pay one extra cent on a major appliance at the time of purchase even if they knew the more expensive appliance was eco and would save them hundreds of dollars in the long run. So what are we dealing with and what really makes a difference? One explanation is mud shadows. Which is an inorganic being that poses as your mind. Making you think that it's thoughts are your own so it can feed on your energy. Once you experience what your perception is like not having them, you will most certainly agree. But to be really accurate, there is a little more to the cause of our problems than just the mud shadows although they are the bulk of the problem. Below is an alternative explanation of what we are dealing with and what steps you can take to at least free your self. Only by freeing your self, will you truly know what you are dealing with. Actions To Take To Free Yourself: NOTE: Understand the danger involved in taking any of these steps. Only you can be responsible for yourself. The order you do the steps below must be determined by you. This is just an article on a web site that is intended to be supportive not all inclusive... Read the book: The Active Side Of Infinity by Carlos Castaneda If your assemblage point is split bring the assemblage point back together as one unit. If your assemblage point is near the shell of the egg ("in the human junk pile"), move your assemblage point to the optimal position. This is roughly just to the right of the center of the egg at shoulder height within the egg. Let your egg determine precisely where the optimal position is. You must continue to act from that location to lock into and stay at that location.

What Is Aromatherapy?Aromatherapy is the inhalation and application of volatile essential oils from aromatic plants to restore or enhance health, beauty and well-being. The basic intention of Aromatherapy is to bring together the scientific achievements of man with his intuitive understanding for the treatment of illnesses with the most effective and useful natural essential oils. Conforming with the laws of nature, the principle of Aromatherapy is to strengthen the self-healing processes by preventative methods and indirect stimulation of the immune system. Their field of activity is quite wide, ranging from deep and penetrating therapeutic actions to the extreme subtlety of unique fragrance. Simply put, essential oils can be used to enhance health as well as the quality of life. Aromatherapy is an ancient yet timely and stunningly modern approach to total well-being that is in tune with nature.
What Are Essential Oils?Essential oils are the highly concentrated volatile extract of flowers herbs, grasses, shrubs and trees. These tiny droplets are present in particular glands, hairs or specific structures of the plant and contain some (but not all) of the active principles of the plant. Similar to herbal therapy principles, essential oils are phytochemicals with particular biological properties. Non-oily in texture, these highly concentrated substances are obtained by steam distillation, peel pressure, and solvent extraction methods. Only the utmost quality of essential oils should be used in aromatherapy. The majority of essential oils produced in the world market are used in the food flavor and fragrance industry, so essential oils are often found on the market adulterated with similar essential oils, chemicals and synthetics, as well as extenders such as dipropylene glycol. Unfortunately, even the type used in food can be adjusted with chemicals from a natural source and still legally be called natural. Therefore, it is wise to purchase only from a reputable aromatherapy source.
How Do Essential Oils Work?Essential oils work in harmony with the body to normalize and balance. They produce certain effects that we can count on, but can also adapt to the needs of different people. Used for their undisputed anti-microbial and antiseptic effects, essential oils are not only less toxic than synthetic antibiotics but also support life (eubiotic) by working with the body's own natural healing abilities (thru which the only true healing occurs). Certain oils, such as Roman chamomile, have cytophylactic (cell regeneration), antiseptic, and wound healing effects as well as anti-fungal and anti-inflammative properties making them the ultimate active principles for holistic natural skin-care.
What Are The Effects?Oils can directly or indirectly affect the body's physiological systems. For instance, a couple of drops of peppermint taken orally can aid digestion and inhalations of mucolytic oils can relieve respiratory symptoms. Used topically for their antiseptic and soothing effects, essential oils can successfully treat minor skin conditions. It has been demonstrated that the application of certain essential oils to the skin can produce vaso-dilation which in turn causes warming of underlying muscles, however this is an indirect effect of the oil acting on the superficial tissues, it is not a pharmacological effect produced as a result of the oil entering the systemic circulation via the skin. In addition, because of the effect of relaxation on the brain and the subsequent sedating or stimulating of the nervous system, essential oils can also indirectly raise and lower blood pressure and possibly aid in normalization of hormonal secretion.
Because of olfaction's direct connection to the brain, sending electrical messages directly into the limbic system, essential oils can have effects on emotions and mental states. Perception of odors can have a major impact on memory, learning, emotions, thinking and feeling. As therapeutic agents essential oils work similarly to tranquilizers but in a subtle organic way. Most scents uplift spirits and calm the nervous system. For example, lavender is calming and sedative; basil, rosemary and peppermint are uplifting and stimulating; and jasmine and ylang-ylang are exciting or euphoric.
How Are Essential Oils Used?Direct inhalation of the oils can have psycho- logical effects through olfactory links with the limbic system that can then stimulate or sedate body systems or organs. In addition, physiological effects are possible because this is the fastest route into the bloodstream. Inhalation is most useful for respiratory symptoms and can be done by sniffing drops on a tissue or by inhaling near a diffuser with glass nebulizer. Local application of diluted oils (2-10% in a vegetable oil base) on various points (spinal nerves, chakras, meridians) is effective for certain conditions. As well, full-body massage is quite effective, providing relaxation as well as a physiological action through the nervous system. Although it is claimed in the literature that many physiological systemic effects are due to essential oils entering the bloodstream via skin application, little evidence backs this up as a major route of absorption. In addition, many of the therapeutic claims are "borrowed" from herbalism, or are really the effect of ingesting the herbal extract. Nevertheless, aromatherapy does work for topical application and relaxation, we are just not sure how it works for some other conditions. Common sense and education should accompany essential oil applications for particular medicinal results. Safety data is mandatory knowledge for anyone using essential oils on the skin, as many are irritating or sensitizing as well as photo-toxic.
Aromatherapy provides health and body care on a completely natural basis, and the subtle qualities of the oils lend themselves best to a gradual experience. The combination of factual informa- tion from reference books now being offered coupled with a developed intuition make one capable of generating spectacular successes in self-healing. At first, using essential oils is pleasant; this experience then grows into a heightened awareness of increased health as a consequence of external use of essential oils.
Money-wise, aromatherapy can cut your health care and cosmetic bills.
Therefore, using a diffuser, scent pot, or spraying the air (5-8 drops to one ounce of water), wearing as perfume (diluted in jojoba) or used in baths (5-10 drops), inhalations (2-5 drops), and massage treatments (15 drops in ounce of vegetable oil), essential oils can enhance health and well-being in a natural way.

JOGJA

Yogyakarta / Jogja
Yogyakarta (some people call it
Jogja, Jogjakarta, or Yogya) is a city with outstanding historical and cultural heritage. Yogyakarta was the centre of the Mataram Dynasty (1575-1640), and until now the kraton (the sultan's palace) exists in its real functions. Also, Yogyakarta has numerous thousand-year-old temples as inheritances of the great ancient kingdoms, such as Borobudur temple established in the ninth century by the dynasty of Syailendra.
More than the cultural heritages, Yogyakarta has beautiful natural panorama. The green rice fields cover the suburban areas with a background of the Merapi Mountain. The natural beaches can be easily found to the south of Yogyakarta.

HistoryofAromatheraphy?;The history of the use of aromatic oils on the body goes back at least 2,000 years before Christ। There are records in the bible of the use of plants and their oils, both in treatment of illness and for religious purpose. The Egyptians, Chinese, Greeks and Romans, who brought the idea to Great Britain, used them over the centuries. The earliest written record of their use in England was in the thirteenth century, and from that time a great increase was shown both in oils produced and treatments carried out. Glove makers used to perfume their gloves with essential oils to mask the body odour of the wearer, and it was known fact that people who used aromatic oils were the only ones to survive the plague which struck Europe during these centuries, due to the fact that the vast majority of essential oils have antiseptic properties The knowledge of the medicinal properties of plants was latter reinforced by Nicholas Culpeper, a celebrated herbalist who wrote a book of herbs in 1652, which contained the medicinal properties of hundreds of plants. The scientific study of the therapeutic properties of essential oils was commenced by the French cosmetic chemist, Renee Gattefosse, in the 1920's. He discovered through burning his arm while making fragrances in his laboratory, that the essential oil of lavender was exceptionally healing to the skin, and left no scarring. This discovery led him to undertake a great deal of research into the medicinal uses of essential oils, and his work revealed that it is possible for essential oils to penetrate the skin and be carried in the blood and lymphatic system to the organs. There was a period around 1950 when herbal medicine and aromatic remedies lost credibility due to modern medicine eg antibiotics, but by mid 1960's there was a growing awareness and concern about chemical pollution, the addition to synthetic drugs, their hazardous side effect, the body reduced immunity to the superbugs. So once more people were beginning to look for alternative Natural Remedies to find a cure. So the herbal renaissance finally begun, and stills continues to develop today.

What is Aromatheraphy?;Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of odoriferous substances obtained from flowers, plants and aromatic shrubs. Not only can it be used to treat and cure illness effectively but perhaps even more importantly it can also help to prevent us losing good health in the first place. The primary form of aromatherapy application involves using essential oils in the following ways: -*Topically to the skin via massage, diluted in a carrier oil.*Inhalations*Compresses*Aromatic baths.
Why Aromatheraphy?Aromatherapy is a gentle, profoundly relaxing truly holistic therapy, as it aims to treat the whole person by taking account not only of their physical state but also their emotions, which can have a profound effect on general well-being. It works on the principle that the most effective way to promote health and prevent illness is to strengthen the body's Immune system; in so doing it helps to restore the harmony between mind and body.
